Facebook Timeline for Brand Pages, How effective ?

Whats New ?

  • Fans can contact you via Messages.. So keep your eyes open ..
  • Time line won't show link posts on top.
  • Organize your timeline from the bottom of it start.
  • It's awesome, You can change Tab images.
  • Tab Area expanded 520px to 810px

Most Facebook users experienced a difference on their personal profiles with a newly introduced Timeline (September 2011). The timeline takes your profile one step ahead and recreate it to a biographical flow chart. Most users have switched to the timeline & it became compulsory from end of October.

TODAY facebook stepped up to implement the same feature to their business pages (Basically calls as Fan pages). So the change will not surprise brand, public figures, athletes or any other product or organization.

Finally Facebook exclusively made an official announcement today and given the option to administrators of pages to check the new appearance and options. It's all yours- Brands can recreate their fanpages to promote their goods, services, announcements etc, in detail & organized. Fans privilege to findout activities through the timeline.

Note: All fanpages will be converted to the new layout by 31st of March and it's better to try new layout to get things identify.

This is what I saw when I open the fanpage link. ( Subject: Sri Lanka Cricket & Sports News) Surprised with the notice.

Then It change in to timeline view with a option of adding a cover picture. :D

Here We Go... This is our brand page cover view and its tabs. (Red Squared) Sri Lanka Cricket

Worst thing is fans may not notice which are the features we offer since tabs are hidden (pined) while featured tabs appear on the dashboard.

Mentions, Links, Likes user posts and also pages you like will see properly.
Hell ya it's awesome to have such organized page.

Admin Panel New Options.

Let's see what you have deep end. Yeppi here I found went this is started,
Gosh Facebook very kind to keep everything we post so far.

What's Missing and What's New .. ?

Lot's of Pros & Cons ..

I will come back with some tricks, after test in real environment.

Note: Use the cover page to get most out of it. Hammer with what we have good & ignore what we lost. Mark Zuckerberg will never change his implementations if they not failed.

Guess What ? Fans can contact you via Messages.. So keep your eyes open ..

Time line won't show link posts.

Special Thanks : Nipunika Fernando

Queens Baton is not a Torch.....

Majority mistaken  Queens Baton relay of Commonwealth Games  as another torch relay, Coz the Baton holding by runners vertically to symbolize the Olympic Torch. The baton contains the Queen's hand-written message to the Commonwealth and will visit all 70 competing nations and territories over the next 288 days this year. The first baton bearer this years relay was Alan Wells, the Scottish sprinter who won gold in the men's 100m at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. The Queen entrusts the baton to the first relay runner. At the Opening Ceremony of the Games, the final relay runner hands the baton back to the Queen or her representative, who reads the message aloud to officially open the Games. However, I decided to seek clarifications from  "Queens Baton Relay" committee. Me:  Many people mistaken this as the torch of Commonwealth Games.. Is this a torch ?  Can someone use it as a torch ? Is this the one use to light Commonwealth Games flame?  I...

Best 6 Way to filter your feeds

There are many ways to filter news feeds from your favorite sources, including passively by relying on meme trackers like Techmeme or social news services such as Google Reader's shared items. We've also taken a look in the past at automatic filters such as Feedhub ( our coverage ) which learns from your behavior to suggest posts, or AideRSS ( our coverage and here ), which uses outside metrics to determine which items in an RSS feed are the "best." For the purpose of this post, however, we'll focus on services that let you filter by keyword. Feed Rinse is a best of class RSS filtering application. It offers filtering by keyword, tag, author, title, etc. It supports regular expressions, has a built in profanity filter, and lets you upload your OPML file for easy importing of your RSS feeds (it can also export to OPML). And since we first covered it in April of 2006 it has gone completely free. FilterMyRSS is a no-nonsense keyword fil...
